I am poems....

We have had a lot of fun creating a poem about Room 19 using similes and/or metaphors. The children then created a poem about themselves and have picked their favourite lines to go onto postcards which we are sending to Mayfair School in Hastings. Here is a picture of us all with the completed postcards joined together. We are looking forward to receiving postcards back from Mayfair School.

Koru Shield Winners

Ka rawe Room 19...

On Friday Room 19 won the Koru shield for their great behaviour at assembly. This was very exciting as lots of the children tried very hard to win the shield.

Teamwork in Maths

This week we have
been writing Maths questions about a picture. The children have been working in groups, coming up with a question, then showing ways to solve the problem.

We have been doing a lot of thinking around our Value of the Term "teamwork", and what this means when we are working with others.

Teamwork: Helping Harry

In Room 19 we have been learning about how to work well as a team. Teams had to design a new perch for "Harry" to keep him safe and secure using only the materials that were provided in a bag. 
Afterwards each team ranked themselves against criteria of what good team work looks like. 
We got some fantastic results!
