This week we have been learning about the healthy eating pyramid and how healthy food is the motor that keeps our engine (body) running. The children had to consider what category certain foods fell into such as meat, fruit and vegetables, dairy and grains. Lots of items ended up in the junk food pile!
Here is the first of our calendar art pictures. There are still 5 more to be be finished. The theme was night and day (part of inquiry this term). The order forms were sent home today. They will be on display in the window of Room 19 next week.
What a super day Tui Hub had at the Carter Observatory and TePapa today. The children really enjoyed the day. The highlight for a lot of the children was the movie that was on a dome on the roof showing our night sky and how we get seasons. We also go to create a model of the distance between planets, used a torch and models to show night and day and why the moon has different phases. Thank-you to all our wonderful parent helpers. What a great job you all did looking after your groups.
